FOIA Request to Jackson County Il Clerk And Recorder Regarding Upcoming Election Candidates on February 5, 2025.
A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent by us at the Carbondale Reporter to the Jackson County Il Clerk And Recorder. The request, dated February 5, 2025, seeks comprehensive information about all candidates running in the upcoming spring election in Illinois.
The details requested include the full names of the candidates (first, middle, and last), the office they are running for, jurisdiction of the office, and their party affiliation. Additionally, we have also asked for all contact information for each candidate. This includes their address, phone number, and email address.
As a media organization committed to providing accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we believe that access to public records is essential in fulfilling our professional responsibilities. These responsibilities include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.
