State Representative Dave Severin (R-Benton) participated in an Agriculture Day event in Springfield joined by Future Farmers of America (FFA) students from Mt. Vernon High School and officials from the Farm Bureau. The event, part of an annual advocacy day held at the Illinois State Capitol, emphasizes the pivotal role of agriculture in the state's economy.
Severin praised students and teachers, highlighting their commitment to agriculture education. "I am always amazed at the level of hard work and character displayed by FFA students during their annual Ag Day in Springfield," Severin stated. "Each year, I meet with students and teachers who value agriculture, work to promote it, and make the future brighter for the ag industry in our state. I am grateful to every farmer, ag student, and ag teacher for their invaluable work supporting agriculture!"
The event also saw the participation of John Howard, a member of the Illinois Farm Bureau Board of Directors and District 17 Director, who resides in Jefferson County. Howard joined Severin for the annual Ag Lobby Day.
The engagement underscores the collective efforts to support and enhance the agriculture industry within Illinois through educational initiatives and advocacy.
