Southern Illinois quarterback DJ Williams and wide receiver Keontez Lewis have been recognized with Missouri Valley Football Conference player-of-the-week honors after standout performances in the team's 35-28 victory over No. 12 Incarnate Word on Saturday.

Williams, a transfer from Murray State, completed 19 of 27 passes for 301 yards and two touchdowns, earning him Offensive Player of the Week honors. He also led the team in rushing with 12 carries for 79 yards, including a 28-yard touchdown run.

Lewis, a Wisconsin transfer, caught eight passes for 148 yards and one touchdown to earn Newcomer of the Week honors. He added another touchdown on a 57-yard end-around play.

The Salukis accumulated a total of 543 yards of offense during the game — their highest since they last faced Incarnate Word in San Antonio in 2022 when they amassed 550 yards.

Southern Illinois University will host SEMO on Saturday at 6 p.m. in the annual War For The Wheel game.
