The Southern Illinois University swimming and diving teams are preparing to participate in the Purdue Invitational, which will take place from November 21 to November 23 at the Morgan J. Burke Aquatic Center in West Lafayette, Indiana. The event will feature four co-ed teams and two women-only teams.

Among the competing teams are Grand Canyon, Southern Illinois, McKendree, Purdue, Florida International (Women), and Illinois State (Women). The Salukis are entering the competition after a successful performance at the A3 Performance Invitational, where both their men's and women's teams secured first-place finishes.

During the A3 Invitational, Southern Illinois set ten new records: eight Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) records and two program records. Notably, Alex Santiago achieved individual MVC records in the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle events. Olivia Herron also made her mark by setting an MVC record in the 200-yard breaststroke and breaking two program records in the 200 IM and 400 IM. Additionally, Henrique Pacheco set a new MVC record for the 400 IM, while Benedek Andor broke the MVC record for the 200 IM.

The Purdue Invitational's preliminaries will begin at 10 a.m., followed by finals at 5 p.m., with live results available on Meet Mobile.
