Williamson County Board of Commissioners met April 24.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The Williamson County Board of Commissioners and Marion City Council met Wednesday, April 25, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at the Williamson County Administrative Building Boardroom, Marion, Illinois, in a meeting of the Williamson County Board of Commissioners with the following members present:

Tim Atkisson, Commissioner

Jim Marlo, Commissioner

Jim Rasor, Commissioner

Michael W. Absher, Mayor

Doug Patton

John Stoecklin

Jim Webb

Rhett Barke, County Attorney and Wendy Cunningham, City Attorney, present.

Motion made by Jim Marlo and seconded by Jim Rasor, approving Intergovernmental Agreement with City of Marion to Develop a Sports Complex within the City of Marion. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Tim Atkisson, Yea; Jim Marlo, Yea; Jim Rasor, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.

Motion made by Jim Marlo and seconded by Jim Rasor, approving Public-Private Partnership Agreement with City of Marion and Oasis Outdoors, LLC-Oasis Sports to Construct and Operate a Multi-Sport Complex within the City of Marion. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Tim Atkisson, Yea; Jim Marlo, Yea; Jim Rasor, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.

Motion made by Jim Marlo and seconded by Jim Rasor, approving ORDINANCE NO. 24-04-24-04 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING COUNTY ORDINANCE 23-03-08-04 REGARDING HOTEL/MOTEL TRANSIENT OCCUPANCY RENTAL UNITS TAX AND RELATED MATTERS. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Tim Atkisson, Yea; Jim Marlo, Yea; Jim Rasor, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.

Resident of the County, Steve Beletier and wife Kathy, spoke of the concerns of the new sports complex being built in the area.

Motion made by Jim Marlo and seconded by Jim Rasor adjourning meeting. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Tim Atkisson, Yea; Jim Marlo, Yea; Jim Rasor, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.
