State Representative Dave Severin (R-Benton) marked National Waterpark Day by highlighting the enjoyment waterparks provide to communities throughout Illinois. In a statement, Severin said, “Happy National Waterpark Day! Today, we’re celebrating the amusement and memories that waterparks bring to our communities across the state. Stay safe and cool this summer!”
Severin is scheduled to host his annual Summer Reading Club Night at the Aquatic Zoo on August 10, 2025, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., an event for participants in his summer reading program.
Severin was elected as a Republican to represent Illinois' 116th House District in 2023, succeeding David Friess.
The announcement also noted that campaign-related content is not permitted on the state-sponsored website due to ethics regulations.
