Trico Community Unit School District #176 Board of Education met Jan. 18.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

Board President, Mrs. Lois Jones called the regular meeting of the Trico Board of Education in the Trico Media Center at 6:30 p.m. Members present were Mr. Gerald Speith, Mr. Matt Rodewald, Mr. Brian Blazier, Mrs. Amy Naile, Mr. Michael Baker and President Lois Jones. Absent: None.

Mr. Baker moved, second by Mr. Blazier to approve the following Consent Agenda:

1. Approve minutes of the Truth in Taxation Hearing for 12.20.2021

2. Approve minutes of the regular board meeting for 12.20.2021

3. Approve bills for January 2022

4. Approve Activity Fund for December 2021

5. Approve monthly Finance Statement for December 2021

6. Approve Substitute List for December 2021

7. Approve Enrollment thru January 14, 2022

8. Approve Student Discipline Report for 12.18.21 through 01.13.2022

Yes: Speith, Rodewald, Naile, Baker, Jones. No: None. Motion carried.

Mr. Speith moved, second by Mr. Baker to approve the appointment and swearing in of Mr. Mario Dolce as a member of the Trico Board of Education. Yes: Rodewald, Blazier, Naile, Baker, Speith, Jones. No: None. Motion carried.

Mr. Rodewald moved, second by Mr. Blazier to approve that the executive session minutes for June 21, July 19, August 16, September 27, October 18, November 15 and December 20, 2021 remain confidential. Yes: Dolce, Blazier, Naile, Baker, Speith, Rodewald, Jones. No: None. Motion carried.

Mr. Speith moved, second by Mr. Baker to approve the final reading of the board policy updates from IASB Press Plus Issue 108 November 2021, with the exception of policy 6:60, as presented to the board. Yes: Blazier, Naile, Baker, Speith, Rodewald, Dolce, Jones. No: None. Motion carried.

Mr. Speith moved, second by Mr. Rodewald to approve the recommendation to make changes to the 2022-2023 Trico High School Course Description Booklet, as presented. Yes: Naile, Baker, Speith, Rodewald, Dolce, Blazier, Jones. No: None. Motion carried.

Mr. Speith moved, second by Mr. Baker to approve the overnight trip for high school students, chaperoned by a parent and Mr. Gorecki, to compete in the IMEA Competition on January 26-28, 2022. Hotel expense to be paid by the district and students will cover cost of meals. Yes: Baker, Speith, Rodewald, Dolce, Blazier, Naile, Jones. No: None. Motion carried.

Mr. Baker moved, second by Mr. Speith to approve the recommendation to donate to schools and/or non-for-profit organizations our discard old classroom furniture no longer in use. Yes: Speith, Rodewald, Dolce, Blazier, Naile, Baker, Jones. No: None. Motion carried.

Mr. Rodewald moved, second by Mr. Baker to enter into executive session for discussing the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline or dismissal of specific employees of the district. Yes: Rodewald, Dolce, Blazier, Naile, Baker, Speith, Jones. No: None. Motion carried.

Mr. Baker moved, second by Mr. Blazier to approve the preceding executive session minutes. Yes: Dolce, Blazier, Naile, Baker, Speith, Rodewald, Jones. No: None. Motion carried.

Mr. Rodewald moved, second by Mr. Speith to accept the resignation of Mrs. Tina Rabe as an instructional aide at Trico Junior High School at the end of the 2021-2022 school year. Yes: Blazier, Naile, Baker, Speith, Rodewald, Dolce, Jones. No: None. Motion carried.

Mr. Baker moved, second by Mr. Rodewald to approve the recommendation to post for a full-time Spanish Teacher for the 2022-2023 school year. Yes: Naile, Baker, Speith, Rodewald, Dolce, Blazier, Jones. No: None. Motion carried.

Mr. Rodewald moved, second by Mr. Blazier to adjourn the meeting. All yea. Motion carried. Time Out: 7:43 p.m.
