Report: Unity Point spent $8,912 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Unity Point School District 140 is up 0 percent from five years ago, according to a Carbondale Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Jackson County school district spent $8,909 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $8,912 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 693 to 705.

Unity Point's spending in 2016-17 was 31 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
