There are three inmates sentenced to jail in Jackson County set to be released from the custody of the Illinois Department of Corrections during the week ending Sept. 1.
After the 2019 mass shooting in Aurora, Illinoisians were clamoring for action, and Gov. JB Pritzker set out to reform the firearms owner’s identification (FOID) card process, but the Highland Park shooter still was issued a card even after threating to “kill everyone” in his family, prompting the Highland Park Police Department to issue a clear and present danger report with the Illinois State Police (ISP).
The idea of the Marshall Browning Hospital began on Jan. 14, 1918, after Lillie Browning donated part of her estate to create the public hospital; it opened its doors on Jul. 20, 1922.
