Southern Illinois University's swim and dive teams are set to host the A3 Performance Invite from November 13 to 15 at Shea Natatorium in Carbondale. The event will feature competition from the University of Nebraska-Omaha, Eastern Illinois University, Bellarmine University, and the University of Evansville.

Preliminary rounds for each day begin at 10 a.m., with finals scheduled for 5 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and 4 p.m. on Saturday. Live results will be available through MeetMobile, and fans can watch the meet via the SIU REC Center Facebook page.

The Salukis return to action after several weeks away from competition. In their last outing on October 24 and 25, the women's team defeated Missouri Valley Conference rival Illinois State with a score of 215-129 but lost to Illinois 212-134. Susy Hernandez, Liseska Gallegos Gutierrez, and Olivia Herron each earned multiple gold medals during that meet.

The men's team last competed on October 11 at a tri-meet hosted by Northwestern, where they were defeated by both Northwestern (242-58) and Miami (OH) (200-99).

Olivia Herron received recognition as MVC Women's Swimmer of the Week for her performance in the previous meet. She won four individual gold medals, one relay gold medal, and set three pool records at Illinois' ARC Pool.

The invite brings together teams with varying recent performances. Nebraska-Omaha's men's team enters with a 4-1 record while their women's team stands at 5-2; both recently lost to Missouri State in a dual meet held from October 31 to November 1. Bellarmine’s men’s and women’s squads both lost to Ball State on November 8.

Eastern Illinois has a split record: its men's team is currently 1-1 while the women's team is winless at 0-2. Their most recent competition was on October 25 when the women secured their first victory of the season against Olivet Nazarene but the men fell short. Evansville last competed on October 25 as well, losing to Southern Indiana; additionally, their women's team lost to Indiana State.
