Ted Dabrowski, a candidate for governor in Illinois, addressed the challenges faced by rural communities in the state during a recent event. He emphasized that these areas are experiencing job losses and population declines, and he committed to enhancing competitiveness to attract businesses back to these regions. Dabrowski made these remarks at a meet and greet held at Big Muddy Brewing in Murphysboro.

"Rural communities across Illinois are losing jobs and people as small-time industry continues to disappear," said Dabrowski, Gubernatorial candidate. "Illinois manufacturing positions have fallen by nearly 18,000 jobs since Gov. Pritzker took office in 2019. As governor, I will work to improve Illinois' competitiveness so businesses will come back to Illinois."

According to event organizers, the gathering took place at Big Muddy Brewing, a venue recognized locally for its tours and tastings. The brewery is located at 1430 North 7th Street, Murphysboro, IL 62966.

Dabrowski brings extensive experience in international finance and public policy to his campaign. He spent over three decades in these fields, including 16 years in senior positions at Citibank. His roles included serving as Head of Corporate Banking in Poland, where he advised on economic liberalization and managed substantial Treasury portfolios in Poland and Mexico. In the United States, Dabrowski has been Vice President of Policy at the Illinois Policy Institute and later served as President of Wirepoints, a nonprofit organization focused on Illinois' economy and government. His work has received recognition from publications such as The Wall Street Journal. Dabrowski holds advanced degrees from prestigious institutions: a master's degree in public policy from the University of Chicago, an MBA in finance from Wharton School of Business, and a bachelor's degree from Georgia Tech.
