Murphysboro High School announced an upcoming varsity football game against Massac County High School, scheduled for Friday, September 19, 2025. The school shared information about the event and provided links to watch the match online.

In a post dated September 19, 2025, Murphysboro High School stated: "Murphysboro High School vs. Massac County High School. Watch Boys Varsity Football Friday, Sep 19th, 2025 at 7:00 PM CDT on the NFHS Network! https://t.co/WG7QJzslyb".

Murphysboro High School is part of Murphysboro Community Unit School District 186 in Jackson County. The district also includes Carruthers Elementary School, General John A. Logan Attendance Centre, McElvain School, and Murphysboro Middle School (source).
