Southern Illinois University's softball team is set for a midweek trek through Missouri after dealing with changes in their schedule caused by inclement weather. The Salukis, who currently hold a 20-15 overall record and a strong 12-1 in conference play, will face Missouri State and Missouri in upcoming games.

On Tuesday, the team will compete against Missouri State at Meador Park in Springfield for a Missouri Valley Conference matchup. The following day, they head to Columbia for a non-conference game against Missouri. The games are scheduled for 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively, and will be available for viewing.

In their recent doubleheader against Indiana State, the Salukis secured victories in both contests. They won the first game decisively with a 10-2 run rule in just five innings, aided by Addi Baker's two home runs and five RBI. Anna Carder and Emma Gipson also played crucial roles in the victory. In the second game, the Salukis won 9-4 with Emily Williams hitting a home run and contributing three RBIs.

Southern Illinois holds a narrow 62-52 lead over Missouri State in their all-time series, having defeated them twice earlier this year in Carbondale. Missouri State's last victory against SIU was in 2024. This season, Missouri State has an 11-25 overall record but is 9-5 in conference play, with their latest series resulting in a 2-1 loss at Northern Iowa.

Regarding the Salukis' head-to-head record with Missouri, the Tigers lead 22-13. These teams have not faced each other since 2011. Missouri has struggled in SEC play this season, with a 2-10 conference record and a 20-21 overall record, most recently losing three games to top-ranked Texas.
