Murphysboro High School has recently shared a series of updates and statistics on their social media account. Their tweets highlight the achievements of athletes, the work of photographers, and relevant local and state-level educational data.

On March 30, 2025, Murphysboro High School shared the outstanding performances of their female athletes at the Indoor State track and field event. In the tweet, the school stated, "What a day for the ladies of MHS track and field at Indoor State!!! Harper Ellermeyer 9th in the 800m Shameria Joshua-Ayers 3rd in High Jump Amaryllis Miles is the 2025 High Jump STATE CHAMPION in class 2A with a jump of 5’ 5.25” (1.66m)."

Later that day, Murphysboro High School encouraged followers to appreciate the photography work of Ryan Zeigler in a tweet posted on March 30, 2025. The post read, "Follow Ryan Zeigler to capture great images like these...," accompanied by a link to Zeigler's photography.

A subsequent tweet from March 31, 2025, included a link, suggesting further information without any specific message.

Furthermore, Murphysboro Community Unit School District 186, representing Jackson County, disclosed important educational statistics. The Illinois Report Card indicates that the average 2023 state teacher salary was $73,916, while the average administrative salary stood at $116,908. The district itself, with 147 teachers, reported an average salary of $53,770. Notably, Murphysboro had a chronic truancy rate of 6.7% against the statewide average of 9.6%, while spending $19,142 per student for a total of $37,270,039.
