City of Genoa Economic Development Commission met Sept. 12.

Chair Nick Bradac called the September 12, 2023 City of Genoa Economic Development Commission Meeting to order at 9:04 A.M.
On roll call, members DeaLynn Stone, Carolyn Tobinson, Josh Kubiak, Matt Hoffman (9:10 AM), and Nick Bradac were present; Mayor Jonathon Brust and Alyssa Seguss, City of Genoa, were also present.
The Economic Development Commission moved on to Old Business. Ms. Stone moved and Mr. Kubiak seconded to approve the minutes of the August 15, 2023 meeting. Upon voice vote, all members present said aye.
New Business:
A. Update on the NIU Ignite Intern and Marketing Consultant; The Chair updated the Commission on interviews of the Ignite candidates and discussed an opportunity to replace the City’s previous marketing Consultant who accepted a position elsewhere. Ultimately, Maurya Vennapusa was chosen through the NIU Ignite program and Dakota Kolvitz will contract with the City for marketing. The EDC discussed upcoming assignments including working with local organizations to develop brief marketing plans and a City of Genoa marketing plan.
There being no further business, Mr. Bradac made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 10:02 AM, seconded by Mr. Kubiak. Upon voice vote, all members present said aye.
