Trico Community Unit School District 176 Board met Sept. 26.

Board President, Mrs. Lois Jones called the Budget Hearing of the Trico Board of Education in the Trico Media Center at 6:30 p.m. Member present were Mr. Matt Rodewald, Mr. Mario Dolce, Mr. Brian Blazier, Mrs. Amy Naile, Mr. Michael Baker and President Lois Jones. Absent: Mr. Gerald Speith

BUDGET HEARING

Board President Lois Jones asked the following question three (3) times, “Are there any questions concerning the FY’22 Trico CUSD#176 school budget?” There were no comments or concerns.

Mr. Rodewald moved, second by Mrs. Naile to adjourn the Budget Hearing Meeting. Yes: Rodewald, Dolce, Blazier, Naile, Baker, Jones. No: None. Motion carried.

E-LEARNING PLAN HEARING

Board President, Mrs. Lois Jones called the E-Learning Plan meeting of the Trico Board of Education in the Trico Media Center at 6:33 p.m. Members present were Mr. Matt Rodewald, Mr. Mario Dolce, Mr. Brian Blazier, Mrs. Amy Naile, Mr. Michael Baker and President Lois Jones. Absent: Mr. Gerald Speith.

Board President Lois Jones asked the following question three (3) times, “Are there any questions concerning the 2022-2023 E-Learning Plan for the Trico CUSD#176?” There were no comments or concerns.

Mr. Baker moved, second by Mr. Rodewald to adjourn the E-Learning Plan meeting. Yes: Dolce, Blazier, Naile, Baker, Rodewald, Jones. No: None. Motion carried.

REGULAR MEETING

Board President, Lois Jones called the regular September Trico Board of Education meeting in the Trico Media Center at 6:36 p.m. Members present were Mr. Matt Rodewald, Mr. Mario Dolce, Mr. Brian Blazier, Mrs. Amy Naile, Mr. Michael Baker, President Lois Jones. Absent: Gerald Speith.

Mrs. Naile moved, second by Mr. Baker to approve the following consent agenda: Approval of minutes for the regular board meeting for August 15, 2022, Bills for September 2022, Activity Report for August 2022, Financial Statement for August 2022, Substitute List for August 2022 and the Monthly Enrollment as of 9.22.2022. Yes: Blazier, Naile, Baker, Rodewald, Dolce, Jones. No: None. Motion carried.

Mr. Baker moved, second by Mrs. Naile to approve the Trico CUSD#176 Budget for FY’23 as presented to the board. Yes: Naile, Baker, Rodewald, Dolce, Blazier, Jones. No: None. Motion carried.

Mrs. Naile moved, second by Mr. Blazier to approve the E-Learning Plan for the 2022-2023 school year. Yes: Baker, Rodewald, Dolce, Blazier, Naile, Jones. No: None. Motion carried.

Mr. Blazier moved, second by Mrs. Naile to approve the Board Policy 2:230 that limits individual comments to five (5) total minutes per guest speaker, but does not limit the total number of guests permitted to speak during the guest/public comment portion of the board agenda. Yes: Rodewald, Dolce, Blazier, Naile, Baker, Jones. No: None. Motion carried.

Mr. Baker moved, second by Mr. Blazier to approve the recommendation to purchase a 900-1200cc Side by Side Utility Vehicle with side doors and heater for approximately $20,900., salt spreader for approximately $1,950., snow blade for approximately $4,400., a sprayer for approximately $225. and a snow box blade not to exceed $2,600. for the districts tractor. Funding source will be the Liability/Tort Fund. Prices may fluctuate slightly due to timeline from approval and delivery. Yes: Dolce, Blazier, Naile, Baker, Rodewald, Jones. No: None. Motion carried.

Mr. Rodewald moved, second by Mr. Dolce to re-approve the District’s Threat Assessment, Prevention and Bullying Policies 4:190, 7:20 and 7:180 as well as the Threat Assessment, Prevention and Bullying found in current Trico Elementary, Trico Junior High and Trico High School Student Handbooks. Yes: Blazier, Naile, Baker, Rodewald, Dolce, Jones. No: None. Motion carried.

Mr. Baker moved, second by Mr. Dolce to approve the amended school calendar for the 2022-2023 school year, as presented. Yes: Naile, Baker, Rodewald, Dolce, Blazier, Jones. No: None. Motion carried.

Mrs. Naile moved, second by Mr. Rodewald to approve the recommendation to remove the Datum, Anthro, Bretford and Ergotronics metal charging carts from the district technology inventory. (outdated, no longer in use) Yes: Baker, Rodewald, Dolce, Blazier, Naile, Jones. No: None. Motion carried.

Mrs. Naile moved, secondby by Mr. Baker to approve the recommendation to remove old weight equipment from the district’s inventory. Yes: Rodewald, Dolce, Blazier, Naile, Baker, Jones. No: None. Motion carried.

Mr. Baker moved, second by Mr. Blazier to approve the recommendation to transfer/repay $300,000 to the Working Cash Fund, from the O and M Fund. Yes: Dolce, Blazier, Naile, Baker, Rodewald, Jones. No: None. Motion carried.

Mr. Dolce moved, second by Mr. Rodewald to approve the recommendation to transfer/repay $500,000 to the Working Cash Fund, from the Transportation Fund. Yes: Blazier, Naile, Baker, Rodewald, Dolce, Jones. No: None. Motion carried.

Mrs. Naile moved, second by Mr. Baker to approve the recommendation to grant Mrs. Anne Pierce authority to vote, in the Superintendent’s absence, for the Jackson/Perry County Regional Delivery System Board. Yes: Naile, Baker, Dolce, Blazier, Jones. Abstain: Rodewald. No: None. Motion carried.

Mr. Rodewald moved, second by Mr. Dolce to approve the Trico FFA Organization sponsor and the Chapter Officers to attend the National FFA Convention on October 26-28, 2022 in Indianapolis, IN. Yes: Baker, Rodewald, Dolce, Blazier, Naile, Jones. No: None. Motion carried.

Mr. Baker moved, second by Mr. Rodewald to enter into executive session for discussing the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline or dismissal of specific employees of the district. Yes: Rodewald, Dolce, Blazier, Naile, Baker, Jones. No: None. Motion carried.

Mr. Baker moved, second by Mr. Rodewald to approve the recommendation to hire Mrs. Stacey Westerman as an instructional aide at Trico High School for the 2022-2023 school year. Yes: Naile, Baker, Rodewald, Dolce, Blazier, Jones. No: None. Motion carried.

Mrs. Naile moved, second by Mr. Rodewald to approve the recommendation to hire Mrs. Erica Hampleman as assistant high school Cross Country Coach for the 2022-2023 school year. Yes: Baker, Rodewald, Dolce, Blazier, Naile, Jones. No: None. Motion carried.

Mrs. Naile moved, second by Mr. Blazier to approve the recommendation to hire Mr. Lee Estel as the high school Bass Fishing Team Head Coach for the 2022-2023 school year. Yes: Rodewald, Dolce, Blazier, Naile, Baker, Jones. No: None. Motion carried.

Mrs. Naile moved, second by Mr. Rodewald to approve the recommendation to hire Mr. Kevin Dale Prange as the Junior High School assistant boys’ basketball coach for the 2022-2023 school year. Yes: Dolce, Blazier, Naile, Baker, Rodewald, Jones. No: None. Motion carried.

Mrs. Naile moved, second by Mr. Dolce to approve the recommendation to hire Mrs. Bobbi Compton as an EOC aide at Trico Elementary School for the 2022-2023 school year. Yes: Blazier, Naile, Baker, Rodewald, Dolce, Jones. No: None. Motion carried.

Mr. Baker moved, second by Mrs. Naile to approve the recommendation to hire Miss Kolbie Martin as program aide at Trico Junior High for the 2022-2023 school year. Yes: Naile, Baker, Rodewald, Dolce, Blazier, Jones. No: None. Motion carried.
