Police Chief Ben Doan is meeting with Orville Rowe, EMA Deputy Director, to complete the mitigation strategies worksheet for identified disaster risks so that the Village will qualify for help from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in the event of a disaster.
Danny Vancil reported that rocks and gravel are infiltrating the sewers because plumbers are not capping off old sewer taps when new taps are installed. Board members discussed updating the sewer installation ordinance to address this issue.
Mr. Vancil was told that Plum Street alley behind the 100 block of north Plum Street is actually Treadwater Drive. Board members discussed the fact that there is no stop sign where that alley enters Highway 149. They felt it is advisable that a stop sign be installed, which will require an amendment to the ordinance. Whether or not Plum Street alley is an alley or a street will be investigated.
Mr. Vancil pointed out that the street curves are not being oiled and chipped. Trustee Cristy Desormeaux and Director of Public Works David Griffin will meet with Bill Center of J. T. Blankinship to discuss the matter.
Motion made by Tony Rushing, seconded by Jennifer Morgan, to adjourn at 7:59 P.M. Motion carried.
