Williamson County Board of Commissioners Met March 9.

The Williamson County Board of Commissioners met at 10:04 a.m. at the Williamson County Administrative Building Boardroom, Marion, Illinois, in a regular meeting of the Williamson County Board of Commissioners with the following members present:

Jim Marlo, Chairman

Brent Gentry, Commissioner by phone

Tim Atkisson, Commissioner

Attest: Amanda Barnes, County Clerk and Recorder

Kelly Norris, EMA, was present to discuss House of Hope Grant. Commissioner Marlo, stated that he would speak with Kim Meyer, Auditor, concerning this. No action taken.

Motion made by Tim Atkisson and seconded by Jim Marlo, approving Magnolia Estates 7th Addition Plat. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Jim Marlo, Yea; Brent Gentry, Yea; Tim Atkisson, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.

Motion made by Jim Marlo and seconded by Tim Atkisson, approving Whiteash sewer credit in the amount of $92.98 for the Shiner’s Club. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Jim Marlo, Yea; Brent Gentry, Yea; Tim Atkisson, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.

Motion made by Tim Atkisson and seconded by Jim Marlo, approving Public Defender contract for Kacey Eisenhauer. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Jim Marlo, Yea; Brent Gentry, Yea; Tim Atkisson, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.

Motion made by Brent Gentry and seconded by Tim Atkisson, approving contingent on Assistant State’s Attorney looking over the Raffle and Poker Run License application for Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9763. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Jim Marlo, Yea; Brent Gentry, Yea; Tim Atkisson, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.

Motion made by Jim Marlo and seconded by Tim Atkisson, approving minutes for February 9, 2021. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Jim Marlo, Yea; Brent Gentry, Yea; Tim Atkisson, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.

Commissioners called Kim Meyer, Hudgens & Meyer, to discuss hiring a gaming attorney for the Walkers Bluff Project. Commissioner Atkisson will be contacting attorney’s that have experience in gaming and bringing his selection to the board to vote on.
