Carbondale Chamber of Commerce recently issued the following announcement.
Keep Carbondale Beautiful board. The Arts and Crafts style house was built in 1923, replacing the original Victorian that burned in 1916. The McCormick-Thompson family bought the house in 2017 and have given it new life with paint and landscaping.
They aimed for an open, friendly space, with flowers blooming throughout the season and evergreens for winter color. “The front we tried to paint in keeping with Arts and Crafts; some of the details are whimsical,” according to the family.
The KCB Board selects businesses or residences to receive the Bright Spot Award for enhancing the beauty of our community by means of revitalization of property, new construction, plantings and beautification, upkeep and maintenance, or rehabilitation.
