The Williamson County Board of Commissioners met Tuesday August 13, 2019 at 10:05 a.m. at the Williamson County Administrative Building Boardroom, Marion, Illinois, in a regular meeting of the Williamson County Board of Commissioners with the following members present:
Ron Ellis, Chairman

Jerry Ross, IT was present to give an update on the department. He stated that they are out of licenses to put on any new computer at this time.
Motion made by Brent Gentry and seconded by Jim Marlo, approving Outer Forty Subdivision Variance Letter. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Jim Marlo, Yea; Brent Gentry, Yea; Ron Ellis, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.

Motion made by Jim Marlo and seconded by Brent Gentry, approving Highway Department bid justification for Jeep Cherokee for $21, 953.81 from Absher-Arnold. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Jim Marlo, Yea; Brent Gentry, Yea; Ron Ellis, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.
Discussion had on Frontier final internet bill. Wendy will be talking with Frontier again concerning the final amount. Tabled.
Brandon Zanotti, State’s Attorney, present to go over comments that were made concerning Hudgens & Meyer doing illegal work. Mr. Zanotti reassured the board that there had not been any illegal work done on the County’s behalf. Mr. Zanotti has sent in documents to the Attorney General to get an opinion if there is a possible conflict of interest with the firm. At this time, Commissioner Marlo asked Commissioner Ellis to publicly apologize for the comments he had made saying the Williamson County Board of Commissioners were involved in illegal work done by the firm. Commissioner Ellis refused to do so.
Discussion had concerning Whiteash. Commissioner Ellis has spoken with the USDA office about Village of Pittsburg taking over the sewer system and the County still making the bond payments. No action taken.
Chris Snyder, Clearwave, present to go over an estimate for dial tone only lines. He will be contacting Frontier going forward to coordinate the switch over.
Motion made by Jim Marlo and seconded by Brent Gentry, approved contingent on no hidden disconnect fee with Frontier to go with Clearwave for phone system. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Jim Marlo, Yea; Brent Gentry, Yea; Ron Ellis, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.
Discussion had on invoices for jail. The Commissioners agreed to pay for the invoices through the jail repair and maintenance fund allowing the fund to go into the red to keep track of the overage for the Sheriff’s department. The plan is to take the overage out of the next year budget.

Motion made by Jim Marlo and seconded by Brent Gentry, approving sale of four recycling trailers to Fred Hogg for $1,000 each. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Jim Marlo, Yea; Brent Gentry, Yea; Ron Ellis, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.
The board agreed to accept insurance bids from companies for health and comp. They would like Julie Woolard, Employee Benefits Coordinator, to meet with the insurance companies and bring to the board which companies would be beneficial to the County.

All three Commissioners met with Emily Burke and attorney from Walkers Bluff discussing how casino will benefit the County.
Les Russell was present for meeting and wanted to commend the Highway Department for taking care of a dead deer on the roadway. Beverly Yackey was present to talk about past invoices from Hudgens & Meyer, LLC.
Danny Killman was present to talk about his property taxes.
