Carbondale Chamber of Commerce recently issued the following announcement.
The City of Carbondale is excited to begin work this week on the second phase of the Illinois Avenue Streetscape Improvements Project.
Work will begin on Tuesday, May 22 where the first phase ended, at Cherry Street, and will continue to Monroe Street. Improvements include new street lights, sidewalks, curb ramps, entrances, trees, planters and traffic signals.
The project is expected to be complete by August 10. Residents and visitors may experience travel delays during some phases of the project.
