Carbondale Chamber of Commerce recently issued the following announcement.
Carbondale Community Arts is thrilled for the exhibit The Barista Who Disappeared that will be on view May 30 - June 29 at Artspace 304. The exhibit will feature installation, a series of painting, and sculptural objects created by artist Adam Turl. This work is based on the fictitious character Alex Pullman, who lives off of “Old Highway 13” in Southern Illinois. A part-time artist and coffee shop worker, Pullman believes he can see the future.
Adam Turl is an artist and editor at Red Wedge. He was born in Canandaigua, New York and grew up in southern Illinois. His father was a Baptist preacher and his mother was a public school teacher. He has a BFA from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and an MFA from the Sam Fox School of Design and Visual Arts at Washington University in Saint Louis. Turl has exhibited both nationally and internationally. He currently is an adjunct instructor in the Department of Art at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

This event is free and open to the public.
Artspace 304 located at 304 W Walnut St, downtown Carbondale, and is available for viewing during gallery hours Wednesday 11 - 5 PM, Thursday 11 - 7 PM, Friday 11- 5 PM, by appointment, and during all CCA public programs and events.
