Southern Illinois Healthcare (SIH) recently held its annual Years of Commitment Ceremony at The Pavilion in Marion, recognizing 446 employees for their collective service of nearly 5,500 years. The event, themed “Fortunate Finds: Shining Stars and Hidden Treasures,” honored staff who have reached service milestones ranging from five to 55 years.
Jeffery Reece, SIH Director of Culture and Patient Experience, served as the evening’s emcee. He stated, “Tonight, we’ve celebrated not just years of service, but lifetimes of dedication — countless lives touched and hearts that have given so much. Whether you’ve been here five years or 55, you are the reason SIH is who we are today.”
The ceremony also included recognition of Employees of the Quarter and Employees of the Year, highlighting individuals whose work reflects SIH’s mission.
John Antes, SIH President and CEO, addressed attendees about the long-standing commitment among staff members. “It’s an honor to celebrate the people who’ve helped us build, grow and improve over the decades. And behind every one of those years is a story of dedication to our patients and our community,” said Antes.
Molly Hamilton, Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer, acknowledged the contributions of those recognized. “Every person recognized tonight has played a part in shaping the culture of care that makes SIH special,” Hamilton said. “Their loyalty and compassion inspire us all to continue creating an environment where people thrive — both as professionals and as human beings.”
The event featured dinner, music, and concluded with a standing ovation for the honorees. In closing remarks, Reece said, “You are our shining stars, our hidden treasures. Your dedication makes SIH’s future brighter than ever.”
