On May 6, 2025, Murphysboro High School announced that the Red Devils Girls Soccer Team had secured victory in the SIRR Conference by defeating DuQuoin with a score of 13-0. This win marked their fifth consecutive conference title, improving their overall record to 15-3-2 and maintaining an undefeated streak in conference play at 11-0. Later that day, on May 6, another post from Murphysboro High School highlighted the remarkable performance of Junior Izzy Doerr during the game against DuQuoin.
