The school, located in Jackson County, is part of the Murphysboro Community Unit School District 186. These posts highlight the activities and accomplishments of their students in various sports events.

On February 16, 2025, Murphysboro High School posted about their upcoming sports schedule for the week of February 17-22, noting that it can be accessed online. "2024-25 (Feb 17-22), Red Devils Sports Calendar".

Later that day, another tweet celebrated the achievements of senior wrestlers from Murphysboro High School. The post mentioned Bryce's participation in the IHSA State Tournament in Champaign and highlighted upcoming opportunities at the IHSA Team Duals in Vandalia on February 25th. "Senior Red Devils Wrestlers continue to climb the Wins Ladder and leave their mark on MHS."
