The Southern Illinois University women's basketball team faced a challenging game against Missouri State, resulting in a 75-37 defeat. The Salukis struggled offensively, shooting only 21% from the field and 11% from beyond the arc. Alice Curman led the team with nine points, but no player reached double digits.

In the first quarter, SIU made five of their 14 attempts but missed all three-point shots. Missouri State outscored them 18-12. Gift Uchenna contributed five points and five rebounds early on.

The second quarter saw a significant drop in performance for Southern Illinois, scoring just five points with an 8% field goal percentage. Tkiyah Nelson was responsible for the team's sole field goal during this period as they were outscored 15-5. By halftime, Missouri State held a solid lead at 33-17.

Missouri State's offensive peak came in the third quarter with a high shooting accuracy of 65%, extending their lead to 56-29 by the end of the period. In the final quarter, Southern Illinois managed eight points on one successful shot out of fourteen attempts.

Curman's contributions included two steals alongside her nine points, both marking team highs for Sunday afternoon's game.
