Head coach Kelly Bond-White at Southern Illinois University has confirmed the addition of Kynnedi Davis to the women's basketball team. Davis, standing at 5 feet 7 inches, hails from Brandon, Mississippi, and transfers from Trinity Valley Community College.
Reflecting on the new addition, Bond-White said, "After playing a year without and not returning a point guard, we spent a lot of time making sure we had the right fits at this position. I am thrilled Kynnedi is a part of the Saluki family. Another winner, coming from Trinity Valley, a storied championship program."
Kynnedi Davis played 60 games over her two-year stint at Trinity Valley, starting in 55 of them. She managed an average of 9.0 points per game. Her performance improved in her second year, averaging 10.6 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game across 27 games. Davis earned All-Conference honors in her second year and contributed to winning the Region 14 title during her freshman year, which also led her team to the national tournament.
Coach Bond-White remarked on Davis's play style, describing her as "a scoring first, floor general point guard who is also able to create downhill." She further added, "A strong guard that uses her body well, can score from all three levels, be disruptive on defense, and sees the floor very well. She is a great addition to our Saluki family."
Davis plans to study nursing at Southern Illinois University.
