State Representative Dave Severin is urging residents to donate gently used shoes for the ongoing 2024 Safe Haven Shoe Drive in Mount Carmel. The drive aims to support the Safe Haven Homeless Shelter of Mount Carmel.
"If you are able, I would encourage anyone to donate gently used shoes to this great cause," Severin stated. "The shoes that are donated are sent to developing nations where they are sold in support of microenterprises. This is a good way to clean out your closet, support a great cause, and provide local monetary support for Safe Haven’s efforts to combat homelessness and provide resources to homeless individuals."
Severin will be collecting donations at his district offices. His Benton office is located at 303 N. Main Street and can be contacted at 618-440-5090, while his Mt.
