The Southern Illinois Swimming and Diving team is sending six returning swimmers and one incoming athlete to compete on the international stage this week.
Celia Pulido and Alex Santiago aim to qualify for the upcoming Paris Olympics. Notably, Pulido and Santiago were the first Salukis to participate in both NCAA Men's and Women's Championships since 1992.
Santiago will compete at the Mel Zajac Invitational in Vancouver, Canada from June 21-23, seeking qualification for the Puerto Rican Olympic Team.
Pulido will join teammates Karen Rodriguez and Joshua Aceves representing Team Mexico at the Central American and Caribbean Championships in Monterrey, Mexico from June 17-22. Bea Padron will also represent Costa Rica in this event.
Tomas Peciar is set to represent Slovakia at the European Aquatic Championships in Belgrade, Serbia from June 17-23.
Incoming Saluki Nikola Trajanovski will compete for Macedonia at the European Aquatic Championship.
