FOIA Request to City Of Carterville Regarding Unpaid Parking Violations on October 28, 2024. The Carbondale Reporter, a media organization dedicated to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, has submitted a request under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act (5 ILCS 140) for records of all currently unpaid parking violations.
The requested information includes the name of the offender, their address, the amount due, violation date, and total due. This request is part of our ongoing efforts to hold public institutions accountable and provide transparency to the public.
As members of the media committed to gathering and reporting news to the public, we believe access to these public records is essential in fulfilling our professional responsibilities. Given our role in disseminating information, we have also requested a fee waiver as a media professional.
