Southern Illinois hosts Bradley and Illinois State for key MVC volleyball matchups

Southern Illinois University's women's volleyball team is set to face off against Bradley and Illinois State in an important Missouri Valley Conference weekend series. The matches will be held at Davies Gym in Carbondale, with Southern Illinois playing Bradley on Friday at 6 p.m. and Illinois State on Saturday at 5 p.m.

In terms of their historical performance, Southern Illinois has a record of 49 wins and 26 losses against Bradley. Although Bradley has secured eight victories out of the last eleven encounters, Southern Illinois has won the most recent two matches. Against Illinois State, Southern Illinois trails with a significant margin, having only 14 wins compared to Illinois State's 82. However, Southern Illinois managed to win their last meeting in 2023 after losing eleven of the previous twelve matches.

Key players for Southern include Anna Jaworski, who ranks third in school history with 3,440 assists. Larissa Seger is fourth in the MVC for her hitting percentage of 28.8%, and she also ranks sixth in total blocks (50) and eighth in blocks per set (0.89). Cecilia Bulmahn stands fifth in The Valley with 248 digs and seventh in digs per set (4.35). Eva Krakowski ranks ninth in blocks per set at (0.89).
