The Southern Illinois Women's Volleyball team lost in five sets to Lindenwood on Friday at the Lindenwood Invitational in St. Charles, Missouri.

The Salukis (5-3) took a 2-1 lead after three sets, but Lindenwood (3-4) used a late run in the fourth set to send the match to a decisive fifth set, where they never trailed.

Annabelle Sulish recorded a career-high 22 kills and her fifth double-double of the season. Larissa Seger tied her collegiate high with 13 kills.

The Salukis and Lions engaged in a competitive first set, and after it was sent to deuces, clutch kills from Eva Krakowski and Sulish secured the set win for SIU.

Lindenwood maintained its early lead throughout the second set, extending it by as much as nine points.

Set three remained close throughout, with SIU's late 6-1 run providing enough cushion to win the set 25-23. Sulish contributed seven kills in this frame.

Southern held a narrow 19-18 lead late in set four but could only add one more point as Lindenwood forced a fifth set, which they led from start to finish.

This loss ends SIU's undefeated streak in five-set matches; they had won their previous three such matches in 2024.
