POMONA – 118th district State Representative Paul Jacobs (R-Pomona) is reminding incoming first through fourth grade students residing in the 118th district of an approaching deadline to participate in his 2024 “Get in the Game” Summer Reading Program.

“The deadline to turn in completed forms is this Friday, June 28th. I want to once again invite area students to join my summer reading club!,” Jacobs said. “This a great chance for students to keep reading throughout their summer break, keep their reading skills sharp, and earn a ticket to watch a baseball game with me, Rep. Windhorst, and fellow summer readers. I’m looking forward to seeing summer readers at Mountain Dew Stadium for a Thrillville Thrillbillies game on July 25th as a reward for their hard work this summer.”

Students reading at least eight books by the June 28th deadline will receive an official Illinois House of Representatives Certificate of Recognition and two tickets (one for the reader, one for a parent/guardian) to a July 2024 Thrillville Thrillbillies baseball game at Mountain Dew Park in Marion for a special “Night at the Ballpark” celebrating summer readers. Details will be forwarded to summer readers and their parents or guardians upon receipt of completed reading forms.

Once a student completes reading eight books, they should fill out the form below and have a parent or guardian verify that the books were read. Books with more than 150 pages may be listed twice. Students or their parent/guardian can submit their form electronically at https://reppauljacobs.com/rep-jacobs-summer-reading-program/
