Free Fishing Days offer anglers opportunity to fish without licenses

The Illinois Department of Natural Resources has announced the 2024 Illinois Free Fishing Days, set to take place from June 14 to June 17. This event coincides with Father’s Day weekend and allows anglers to fish without purchasing a fishing license, salmon stamp, or inland trout stamp.

“The 2024 Illinois Free Fishing Days celebration will take place June 14 – 17, coinciding with Father’s Day weekend. During this four-day celebration of fishing in Illinois, anglers can fish without purchasing a fishing license, salmon stamp or inland trout stamp,” the department stated.
