Williamson County Board of Commissioners met March 12.

The Williamson County Board of Commissioners met Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at 10:03 a.m. at the Williamson County Administrative Building Boardroom, Marion,  Illinois, in a meeting of the Williamson County Board of Commissioners with the following members present: 

Tim Atkisson, Commissioner 

Jim Marlo, Commissioner 

Jim Rasor, Commissioner 

Employee Plaque Presentation for Brenda Dale in honor of 50 years of service, presented by Alex Simpson, Supervisor of Assessments.  

Motion made by Jim Marlo and seconded by Jim Rasor, approving Proclamation honoring Ed Smith. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Tim Atkisson, Yea; Jim Marlo, Yea;  Jim Rasor, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried. 

Motion made by Jim Marlo and seconded by Jim Rasor, approving consent agenda. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Tim Atkisson, Yea; Jim Marlo, Yea; Jim Rasor, Yea.  All members present voting Yea; motion carried. 

Motion made by Jim Rasor and seconded by Jim Marlo, approving RESOLUTION NO. 24-03-12-59 RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT JURISDICTION AND MAINTENANCE  OF CHITTYVILLE ROAD (PORTION OF OLD HERRIN ROAD) AND PAVE A PORTION OF EAST GRAND. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Tim Atkisson, Yea; Jim  Marlo, Yea; Jim Rasor, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried. 

Motion made by Jim Marlo and seconded by Jim Rasor, approving RESOLUTION NO. 24-03-12-60 RESOLUTION FOR SAFETY STUDY ON VARIOUS ROADS. Roll call  vote was taken as follows: Tim Atkisson, Yea; Jim Marlo, Yea; Jim Rasor, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried. 

Motion made by Jim Marlo and seconded by Jim Rasor, approving RESOLUTION NO. 24-03-12-61 RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE COUNTY ENGINEER TO APPROVE  AGREEMENTS WITH CMS TO ORDER ROAD SALT. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Tim Atkisson, Yea; Jim Marlo, Yea; Jim Rasor, Yea. All members present voting  Yea; motion carried. 

Excess Liability and Hope Trust Board Member will be addressed at a later board meeting. 

Amendment to Raffle and Poker Run License, Rhett Barke, Board Attorney, will amend Ordinance to reflect a change of $25 to Queen of Hearts Raffles. No action taken. 

Motion made by Jim Marlo and seconded by Jim Rasor, authorizing Mayer Networks to create a Williamson County Government Facebook page. Roll call vote was taken  as follows: Tim Atkisson, Yea; Jim Marlo, Yea; Jim Rasor, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried. 

Motion made by Jim Marlo and seconded by Jim Rasor, approving RESOLUTION NO. 24-03-12-64 WILLIAMSON COUNTY FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT BOARD  APPOINTMENT. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Tim Atkisson, Yea; Jim Marlo, Yea; Jim Rasor, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried. 

Mark Herren and Diane Wallace were present to discuss funding for Soil and Water Conservation. No action taken. 

The following ARPA claims were presented for approval from Herrin House of Hope, Highway 37 North Water District and Caring Counseling Ministries.
