Williamson County Board of Commissioners met Sept. 25.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The Williamson County Board of Commissioners met Monday, September 25, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the Williamson County Administrative Building Boardroom, Marion, Illinois, in a meeting of the Williamson County Board of Commissioners with the following members present:

Tim Atkisson, Commissioner

Jim Marlo, Commissioner

Jim Rasor, Commissioner

Motion made by Tim Atkisson and seconded by Jim Marlo, approving RESOLUTION NO. 23-09-25-92 HOLIDAY SCHEDULE. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Tim Atkisson, Yea; Jim Marlo, Yea; Jim Rasor, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.

Motion made by Jim Rasor and seconded by Jim Marlo, approving an increase in rates for Animal Control as stated: Year one, $2.45; Year two, $2.85; Year three, $3.15. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Tim Atkisson, Yea; Jim Marlo, Yea; Jim Rasor, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.

Only bid received for County Wide Cleanup Day was from Republic Services. Another meeting will be planned on September 29, 2023 to speak with a representative from the company.

Cyber Security will be discussed at a later meeting.

Motion made by Jim Marlo and seconded by Jim Rasor, approving the purchase of 2 Can-Am vehicles for the Sheriff’s Department. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Tim Atkisson, Yea; Jim Marlo, Yea; Jim Rasor, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.

Motion made by Jim Marlo and seconded by Jim Rasor, approving RESOLUTION NO. 23-09-25-91 SURPLUS PROPERTY. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Tim Atkisson, Yea; Jim Marlo, Yea; Jim Rasor, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.

Scott Robinson, resident of the County was present to discuss issues of a sign on Cardinal Lane and Coyote Road. No action taken.

Ashley Gott, Treasurer, was present to discuss the issue with parking. Now that tax bills have went out and residents are coming in to pay there isn’t any parking due to employees parking in the lots designated for residents of the County to conduct business. He would like a letter sent out to all department heads requesting that their employees park in employee parking only.

Motion made by Tim Atkisson and seconded by Jim Marlo adjourning meeting. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Tim Atkisson, Yea; Jim Marlo, Yea; Jim Rasor, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.
