Arcola City Council met June 20.
Here are the minutes provided by the council:
Mayor Garza called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Members present were Alderpersons Garza, Becerra and Foran. City Administrator and Treasurer Anderson were also present. Alderpersons Hensley, Smith, Budd and Attorney Bequette were not present.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Alderman Garza led the council and audience in the Pledge of Allegiance.
PUBLIC COMMENT
There was none.
APPROVAL OF JUNE 06, 2022 COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
Alderman Foran moved to approve the June 06, 2022 council meeting minutes as presented and was seconded by Alderman Garza. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
APPROVAL OF JUNE 04, 2022 THROUGH JUNE 17, 2022 BILLS
Alderman Becerra moved to approve June 04, 2022 – June 17, 2022 bills as presented and was seconded by Alderman Garza. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
REQUEST FROM BACK ALLEY SALOON FOR OUTDOOR EVENTS
Back Alley Saloon requests to have outdoor events on July 09th, August 13th, September 24th. They will have a DJ from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and block off half of parking lot. Alderman Becerra moved to approve request from Back Alley Saloon and was seconded by Alderman Garza. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
CONSIDER AND APPROVE ORDINANCE NO. 22-Z-1, AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A VARIANCE TO 204 W. MAIN
Alderman Foran moved to approve Ordinance No. 22-Z-1 and was seconded by Alderman Becerra. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
CONSIDER AND APPROVE SALARY INCREASE FOR ALLYSON WISE
Alderman Foran moved to approve a salary increase in amount of $ .50 per hour for Allyson Wise starting next pay period. Alderman Garza seconded the motion. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
COMMITTEE MEETINGS
Alderman Garza Had nothing at this time.
Alderman Becerra Had nothing at this time.
Alderman Foran Reported the Park, Street & Alley Committee met prior to this meeting and discussed establishing speed limit of 15 mph in Will’s Place Subdivision. Also discussed the Prairie Lake drain issue and placing weight limits on Ridge, Locust & Oak from Rt. 133.
As this concluded the business of the meeting, Alderman Foran moved to adjourn and was seconded by Alderman Garza. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
