Galena Unit School District #120 Board of Education met Nov. 17.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

1. Welcome

1.1 Call to Order – The Board of Education of Galena Unit School District #120 held their Virtual Public Hearing via Google Meet on November 17, 2020. The meeting was called to order at 6:04 p.m.

1.2 Roll Call - A roll call was taken and a quorum was established. The following members were present: Member Einsweiler, Member Frank, Member Hyland, President Long, Member McIntyre, Member Rosenthal and Member Stodden.

1.3 Approval of Agenda - Member McIntyre moved and Member Rosenthal seconded the Motion to approve the Agenda as presented. Motion carried 7-0.

1.4 Public Comments - None.

2. Public Hearing on e-Learning Program for Galena Unit School District #120

2.1 Public Hearing on e-Learning Program for Galena Unit School District #120 – Superintendent Vincent stated the purpose of this hearing was to receive public comment on the proposed e-Learning Program which, if approved, would permit students' instruction to be received electronically while students are not physically present in lieu of the district's scheduled emergency days. This program is allowed under Public Act 101- 0012. Notification of this hearing was provided to families and was posted in the Galena Gazette more than 10 days prior to this Public Hearing.

He then opened the meeting for public testimony, however, there was no public testimony.

It was noted, there was no Board action during this hearing; the action would occur during the regular meeting when the Resolution is formally approved.

3. Adjournment

3.1 Motion to Adjourn – Member Einsweiler moved, and Member McIntyre seconded the motion to adjourn the meeting at 6:09 p.m. Motion carried 7-0.
