Illinois State House District 117 issued the following announcement on Oct. 29.
BENTON – State Representative Dave Severin (R-Benton) issued the following statement on Thursday in response to news released by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity.
“I am pleased to announced that businesses located in the 117th district that were hurt financially by the COVID-19 outbreak and the resulting economic shut down will receive $350,000 from the State of Illinois as part of a second round of Business Interruption Grant funding provided by the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity,” Severin said. “The financial assistance coming to these businesses comes at a time of increasing case numbers and stricter mitigations for Southern Illinois’ Region 5. We need the assistance in Southern Illinois now more than ever, and I join the businesses receiving these grants in celebrating at least a piece of good financial news.”
The entire list of Business Interruption Grants is located at the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity’s website at https://www2.illinois.gov/dceo/SmallBizAssistance/Documents/BIGRd2Awards_102920.pdf
