Carbondale Fire District responded to 761 calls in 2018 - 5.7 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Carbondale included 103 fires - 50 structure fires, 17 vehicle fires and 36 other fires. The fire department also responded to seven calls for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $950,255 in fire loss - or about $9,226 per fire.

The department also received 651 false calls, including 84 malicious calls and 567 other false calls.

The calls resulted in four civilian fire-related injuries. Additionally, three fire service members were injured in fire-related incidents.
