There were 2 on-campus motor vehicle thefts in 2017 on the campus of Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, located in Carbondale, according to the most recent crime statistics available on the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) website.

In 2016, there were 2 motor vehicle thefts on the campus; and in 2015, there were 0 motor vehicle thefts. In the three year period from 2015 through 2017, there were 4 total motor vehicle thefts on the campus.
