Desoto Consolidated School District 86 Board met Oct. 28.

The Board of Education meeting was called to order by President Paul Copeland at 7:01 p.m. with the following members present:

Chaundy            Martin

Copeland          Waterman

Member(s) absent: Galloway, Shackleton, Smith

Motion made by Paul Waterman, seconded by Fern Martin, to approve the agenda. Motion carried.

Tommie Smith entered the meeting at 7:02 p.m.

Motion made by Jalen Chaundy, seconded by Paul Waterman, to approve the minutes of the Budget Hearing Meeting on September 23, 2019. Motion carried.

Motion made by Fern Martin, seconded by Tommie Smith, to approve the minutes of the Regular Board Meeting on September 23, 2019, as presented. Motion carried.

Motion made by Tommie Smith, seconded by Jalen Chaundy, to authorize the payment of bills as presented. Roll call vote:

Emmalyn and Garrett Lipe were present to discuss junior high curriculum relating to the movie Roots. Ms. Recuero presented what’s going on in her classroom this year and showed examples of the math binders that students are working on.

Matt Shackleton entered the meeting at 7:30 p.m.

Motion made by Fern Martin, seconded by Jalen Chaundy, to enter into closed session at 7:37 p.m. to discuss personnel and curriculum. Roll call vote:
