Williamson County Board of Commissioners met Sept. 24.

The Williamson County Board of Commissioners met Tuesday September 24, 2019 at 9:09 a.m. at the Williamson County Administrative Building Boardroom, Marion, Illinois, in a regular meeting of the Williamson County Board of Commissioners with the following members present:

Ron Ellis, Chairman 

Brent Gentry, Commissioner 

Jim Marlo, Commissioner

Attest: Amanda Barnes, County Clerk and Recorder

Kim Meyer, Hudgens and Meyer, Andrew Wilson, Assistant State’s Attorney, Brandon Zanotti, State’s Attorney and Ashley Gott, Treasurer present.

Motion made by Ron Ellis and seconded by Brent Gentry approving Raffle and Poker Run license for Committee to Elect Justin Maze for Commissioner. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Jim Marlo, No; Brent Gentry, Yea; Ron Ellis, Yea. All members present and two voting Yea; motion carried.

Motion made by Ron Ellis and seconded by Jim Marlo, approving Travel Reimbursement in the amount of $857.48 for Brent Gentry. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Jim Marlo, Yea; Brent Gentry, Abstain; Ron Ellis, Yea. All members present and two voting Yea; motion carried.

Budget meeting for 2019/2020 started with the topic of possibly having to open up the budget from 2018/2019 to pay for overages in various offices due to contingency being so low this fiscal year. IMRF, Health Insurance and Unemployment are all funds that are in trouble for the 2020 fiscal year. Kim Meyer, Auditor, went around the room and asked each Commissioner what they would like her to do for this budget season. Revenue projections, hard numbers on Unemployment, FICA and Health Insurance, problem funds, salary projections and other funds that office holders have were some of the things that were mentioned. The Commissioners would also like to have a copy of each office holders maintenance agreements.

Ashley Gott, Treasurer, Brandon Zanotti, State’s Attorney, Celeste Sollers, Economic Development, Jeff Robinson, Assessor, Terry Watts, Animal Control, Lorrie LeQuate, Regional Office of Education were all present to go over the budget for their offices.

Motion made by Brent Gentry and seconded by Ron Ellis to recess and reconvene September 25, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Jim Marlo, Yea; Brent Gentry, Yea; Ron Ellis, Yea. All members present voting Yea. Motion carried.
