Carbondale Chamber of Commerce recently issued the following announcement.
The best way to predict the future is to create it. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Illinois (formally known as the Boys & Girls Club of Carbondale is excited to celebrate 15 years of service to youth and families.
Over 10,000 youth have walked through the blue doors in 15 years and the numbers keep growing. BGCSI is a comprehensive youth development agency serving youth from ages 5 to 18, reach their full potential through programs that emphasize career and academic preparedness, healthy lifestyles, and good character and citizenship. With the support of highly trained youth development professionals, our youth feel supported, mentored, and guided towards a successful future through programs such as Leadership and Service; Education and Stem; College and Career; The Arts; Health and Wellness; and, Sports and Recreation. Every day, the youth have a safe place to be who they are and want to become.
The 15th Crystal anniversary celebration will kick off with a week of celebratory events leading to the culminating event – 15th Anniversary “Crystal” Gala on Friday, September 20th. The gala will be held at the Garden Grove Event Center on September 20th.
This evening will be filled with remembrances of where we’ve been and creating memories for the future by strengthening the communities of southern Illinois where all youth have a place to become. We are excited to be able to feature alumni of the BGC at this event. The SIU Jazz Quartet, drinks and appetizers will kick off the evening. Dinner and several activities which include awards and special guest speakers to commemorate the occasion.
We are creating a new and brighter future for thousands of young people. Please come celebrate with us on Friday September 20th at the Garden Grove Event Center. Tickets are $75.00 each with a table of 8 for $550. Sponsorships are available. All proceeds benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Illinois.
