African American Museum of Southern Illinois recently issued the following announcement.
Do you want to look your best this spring? We completely understand, and thankfully, we have a super easy way to help you reach your style goals: master your denim. Yes, denim is the key to looking and feeling your best this spring. Because denim is such a frequently worn staple in any man’s wardrobe, once you nail down all the top denim trends of the season, you’re immediately given a style edge.
And so, with all that in mind, implement some of these spring denim trends for a major boost to your style
Denim on Denim
Yes, you read that correctly: after years of being one of the biggest faux pas in fashion, denim on denim is getting its chance to shine. Essentially, this trend is all about wearing two (or more) denim items. For example, a pair of denim pants with a denim jacket. To break up the excess of denim, and give your outfit some trendiness, pair denim with different washes and color. For example, black denim jeans paired with a light blue denim jacket.
Vintage Denim
While you might feel loyal to your standard blue wash jeans, it’s time to give a nod to ‘90s denim styles. Lighter in color, and generally a more baggy fit, men’s styles this season are all about ‘90s flair, both in denim and all areas of fashion. In particular, scoop up some grey wash denim for the ultimate boost to your wardrobe.
White Denim
White denim might have you running for the hills, but when it comes to Spring 2019 style, this is definitely a denim trend worth investing in. Fresh, wearable, and perfectly versatile to match with a range of styles, scoop up your white denim ASAP.
Distressed Denim
If you’re not a fan of distressed styles, this might not be the best news, but if you are, feel free to wear all the distressed denim that you can get your hands on. A word of caution, though: just because distressed denim is in, doesn’t mean you need to wear denim that is completely distressed to the point where we can see your entire leg. Some tasteful, minimal distressing will do just fine to pull off this trend.
Don’t Forget the Jean Jacket
When we’re chatting about denim, it’s easy to just focus on pants, but don’t forget about the always-popular jean jacket. This little number can work wonders for giving your wardrobe an extra boost of style.
