The Williamson County Board of Commissioners met Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at 10:05 a.m. at the Williamson County Administrative Building Boardroom, Marion, Illinois, in a special meeting of the Williamson County Board of Commissioners with the following members present:
Ron Ellis, Chairman
Jim Marlo, Commissioner
Brent Gentry, Commissioner
Attest: Amanda Barnes, County Clerk and Recorder
Motion made by Brent Gentry and seconded by Jim Marlo, approving the vacation of two alley ways on 15610 Shakerag Road, Johnston City, IL 62951. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Jim Marlo, Yea; Brent Gentry, Yea; Ron Ellis, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.
Motion made by Jim Marlo and seconded by Brent Gentry, voting to keep the following Executive Minutes closed: May 4, 2010; July 1, 2010; July 20, 2010; November 22, 2010; March 22, 2011; July 15, 2011; July 18, 2011; September 1, 2011; February 14, 2012; January 8, 2013; April 2, 2013; December 15, 2014; January 21, 2015. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Jim Marlo, Yea; Brent Gentry, Yea; Ron Ellis, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.
Discussion had with Consultant Forester, Mark Holmgren, about harvesting trees on property owned by Williamson County. No action taken.
Discussion had concerning SpyGlass Group. Wendy Cunningham, Assistant State’s Attorney, will look over contract before moving forward with this matter.
Discussion had with John Miller, IT Department, concerning phone system for Williamson County. Also, discussion had about options for John Miller’s replacement after retirement. No action taken.
Discussion had with Kevin Jones and John Andolsek of Progress Port, Kevin Robbins, Recycling, concerning recyclables #3 and #7 not being accepted anymore through Progress Port. It was agreed upon by all parties to take those particular recyclables to another facility that will currently accept them.
Motion made by Jim Marlo and seconded by Brent Gentry, adjourning this meeting until September 12, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. for a Regular Board Meeting. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Jim Marlo, Yea; Brent Gentry, Yea; Ron Ellis, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.
