Crab Orchard Community Unit School District 3 Board met July 16.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

Seeing a quorum present, the Board of Education of Community unit School District No. 3 met Monday July 16, 2018, at 6:00 p.m. at the Crab Orchard School in the Conference Room for a regular board meeting.

Roll call was taken with:

1. Approval of Student Handbooks for 2018-2019.

A motion by Blumenstock and seconded by Anderson to approve the attached student handbooks for FY 19.

2. Approval of Bank for Depository for 2018-2019.

A motion by Ray and seconded b y Blumenstock to approve First Southern as the school depository for the 2018-2019 fiscal year.

3. Public Hearing on FY 19 Budget.

A motion by Gray and seconded by Anderson to set the date for a public hearing on the budget as Monday, September 17, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at the Crab orchard School and to publish the following notice of Public Hearing on the Budget.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Notice is hereby given by the Board of Education of Community Unit School Dist. #3 in the county of Williamson, State of Illinois, that a tentative budget for the said school district for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2018 will be on file and conveniently available for public inspection at the Crab Orchard Unit School District #3, 19189 Cory Bailey St., Marion, IL., in the school district from and after 8:00 O’clock a.m. on the 17th day of August, 2018.

Notice is further given a public hearing on said budget will be held at 6:00 p.m. on the 17th day of September, 2018, at the Crab Orchard Unit School District No. 3. Dated this 16th day of July, 2018, Board of Education of School District No. 3 in the County of Williamson, State of Illinois.

4. Approval of Hazardous Transportation Conditions.

A motion by Blumenstock and seconded by Gray to certify that the hazardous transportation conditions have been reviewed and remain unchanged. The Board of Education desires to retain the “Approved Status” of hazardous routes of the original application so that free transportation for the 2018-2019 school year can be provided to the identified population.

A motion by Blumenstock and seconded by Ray to approve the destruction of the following verbatim closed meeting recordings as of 5 ILCS 120/2.06©: January 18, 2016, February 15, 2016, March 21, 2016, April 18, 2016, May 16, 2016, June 2 & 20, 2016, July 11, 2016, August 15, 2016, September 19, 2016, October 18, 2016, November 14, 2016, and December 19, 2016.

A motion by Killman and seconded by Ray to go into closed session on July 16, 2018, at 6:12 p.m., in the Crab Orchard School to discuss:

1. The appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific employees of the District or legal counsel for the District, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee or against legal counsel for the District to determine its validity. 5 ILCS 120/2©(1), as amended by P.A. 93-0057.

11. Litigation, when an action against, affecting or on behalf of the particular District has been filed and is pending before a court or administrative tribunal, or when the District finds that an action is probable or imminent, in which case the basis for the finding shall be recorded and entered into the closed meeting minutes. 5 ILCS 120/2©(11).
