CARBONDALE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE: For Kids’ Sake 8th Annual Superhero 5K Saturday, October 6, 2018

Carbondal

Carbondale Chamber of Commerce recently issued the following announcement.

The 8th Annual Superhero 5K is retuning to Turley Park in Carbondale! Be part of the largest 5K in Southern Illinois, and join hundreds of superheroes in supporting over 4,000 Bangladeshi children on Saturday, October 6 at 9:30am. Register today at www.forkidssake.net.

This year is the beginning of a new For Kids’ Sake tradition; the Superhero 5K will be on a Saturday morning for the first time. Participants are encouraged to come before the race and stay after to listen to a live DJ, check out local vendors, enjoy kids' activities like a 30 ft. Climbing Rock Wall and face painting. After the race, racers can revive with breakfast and the Award Ceremony including awards for the Fastest Times, Best Costumes and the Most Money Raised.

Superheroes save lives. The superhero theme was adopted because every registration fee and dollar participants fundraise will help save the lives of children in Bangladesh. The $20 registration fee alone will feed 57 children a nutritious meal.

Fundraisers who raise or donate $300 will provide a child with all of their basic needs for six months. They will also receive a For Kids’ Sake jersey hoodie and portable Bluetooth speaker in exchange for their generous efforts. Fundraisers are encouraged to go paperless by signing up on fundly.com/fks5k2018.

To register and become a fundraiser – visit www.forkidssake.net.
