CARBONDALE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE: Energizing Student Potential Program Seeks Grant Applicants

Carbondal

Carbondale Chamber of Commerce recently issued the following announcement.

The Illinois Clean Energy Community Foundation is seeking grant applicants for its “Energizing Student Potential” program. This program is designed to help STEM educators, grades 5-8, bring energy into the classroom, and to provide all the tools and resources necessary for students and teachers to learn together, explore energy together, and teach their local communities about energy.

In February, an initial round of 11 schools applied for grants and each one was approved. Due to the low application rate, the foundation is opening an unprecedented second grant cycle and is accepting applications through August 31st. For more information and to apply for a grant, please visithttp://illinoissolarschools.org/grants/.

AES Solar is excited to continue partnering with the “Energizing Student Potential” program, and hopes many area schools will apply. They are currently installing solar at 3 schools in Murphysboro and Mt. Vernon as part of this program, and have previously installed solar at 7 schools in Johnston City, Herrin, and Vienna.
