CARBONDALE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE: The Varsity to show hit documentary “Three Identical Strangers” on Aug. 19

Carbondale Chamber of Commerce recently issued the following announcement.

“Separated at birth” is just the starting point for an extraordinary documentary about identical triplets who find each other as adults and become a media sensation. “Three Identical Strangers” will show at The Varsity for one day only on Sunday, Aug. 19 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Robert Shafran, Edward Galland and David Kellman are reunited by an astonishing coincidence after being born identical triplets and adopted by three different families. Their jaw-dropping, feel-good story instantly becomes a global sensation complete with fame and celebrity; but the fairy-tale reunion sets in motion a series of events that unearth an unimaginable secret –– a secret with radical repercussions for us all.

Winner of Sundance Film Festival’s Special Jury Award, “Three Identical Strangers” is an exuberant celebration of family that transforms into a thriller proving that life is …. truly is stranger than fiction.

The Varsity will show “Three Identical Strangers” at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19. Tickets are $10 and are available in advance atwww.thevarsitycenter.org. Tickets also will be available at the venue on the night of the show when doors and the bar open at 1:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. respectively. The Varsity Bar features beer, wine, select cocktails, non-alcoholic beverages, snacks and popcorn.

“Three Identical Strangers” is rated PG-13.
